The 2017 Speak Out Challenge

In an incredibly fiercely fought Merton Regional Final’ Katrina Frempong from Year 10 did incredibly well to come in in 3rd place with her amazing speech about Colourism, watch Katrina here

Congratulations also to Hannah Handzar Maldonado and Olivia Ohene-Offei who spoke on Small is Powerful and Hidden Black History.  Both gave incredibly passionate and professional speeches.  It was great to hear young, talented voices from across Merton clearly putting forward their inspirational points of view.

Thank you to the Speaker’s Trust who ran brilliant workshops in public speaking with 90 year 10 students and who make this competition happen each year, sponsored by the Jack Petchey foundation.
